Tomocyon

In August 2001 I noticed an advert 'pure breed Spanish Arab fillies for sale', and seeing that Andrew had taken his son Ben and daughter Stephanie to Spain for 2 weeks, the least I could do was treat myself to a day off 'site seeing'.
Off to Llandeilo I go to met a lady called Mary. On arriving at the yard I noticed a stunning stallion in the field opposite, who also belonged to her. Mary had bought Tomocyon 6 months previously but due to her bad hips had not been able to do a lot with him.
The fillies and mares were kept a couple of miles away so we trundled off to see them in my car. As sweet as the fillies were they did not take my eye especially having seen Tomocyon. When I dropped Mary back at her home I thanked her for her time and said it was a shame she didn't get someone to ride Tomocyon as he was wasted in that field, be it he was quite happy with the sheep for company. I couldn't believe it when she said I could buy him.
So off I drove thinking s**t, I've got two weeks to find the money and Andrew will do his nut when he finds out. By the time Andrew rang that night I had decided to tell him I was going to sell the tractor (that 'I' didn't like to drive and was rarely used as we had no implements) and buy Tomocyon for my 40th which was at the end off that month. There comes a time in life when birthday presents become thin on the ground and so as of that day I decided I would treat my self on my birthdays.
Tomocyon is a very strong broad chested looking horse, both his parents were breed by the Spanish Military. He has a lovely light showy action and at the same time wide at the back great to ride, very forward, doesn't pull, is ridden bitless ,with or without a saddle. Like Celti he has a very kind nature he loves to be with you. When I buy a horse I always look at the eye and if I like what I see I just hope every thing else is O.K., If it doesn't have a kind eye I don't care if it's got the best legs in town I won't buy.
