Sometimes you can meet
someone and have that feeling that they've definitely 'been here before',
well that is the feeling you get from Celti. He gives off this air of
wisdom and understanding! and I felt this the first time Andrew and
I met him in 1996.
We'd been to Tregaron to
view a colt foal 'Fyhad' out of a Section B mare 'Downland Sundew' by
Celtic Shadow. The breeder Jean Ackroyd informed us that the Sire Celti
was owned by an elderly gentleman Will Davies (Will NFU he was known as
to the locals) who lived near Lampeter, So we drove over on speck to see
Mr Davies and Celti. Celti came bounding over to us and walked alongside
back to the yard as if he'd known us for years.

In
August 2001 I noticed an advert 'pure breed Spanish Arab
fillies for sale', and seeing that Andrew had taken his
son Ben and daughter Stephanie to Spain for 2 weeks, the
least I could do was treat myself to a day off 'site
seeing'.
Off to
Llandeilo I go to met a lady called Mary. On arriving at
the yard I noticed a stunning stallion in the field
opposite, who also belonged to her. Mary had bought
Tomocyon 6 months previously but due to her bad hips had
not been able to do a lot with him.

Alkabir has been with us since he was a yearling, It was
through seeing him advertised that we came across Celti
again. He settled in with the rest of the gang straight
away, always taking everything in his stride. His only
downfall
if you can call it that is he’s a wee bit accident
prone.
Even before we bought him he’d had an argument with
barbwire making a mess of his legs but luckily apart
from a few visible scars there was no permanent damage.

Beginning of August 2004 I went to the open day at
Buchan Arabians Llandeilo, owned by Emrys and Sue Jones,
whom with the help of their sons and daughter gave an
enjoyable down to earth display of all the stallions,
mares, foals and youngsters. Among the foals was a two
month old colt (Karissa x Psynergy) with fantastic
movement, the longer the stride the wider he became in
the back, covering the uneven ground with confidence and
ease, to top it all he ran off ahead of his mum in a
bold care free manner.
